'Local T-shirts' for those who love local brand

KATHMANDU, Aug 10: A team of five Nepali youths have launched a range of T-shirts under the brand name ´Local´. These T-shirts which are sold by Local Pasal, an online store, are made of pure cotton and are designed by local artists.



“For printing the pictures on T-shirts, we collect designs for both men and women created by local designers, illustrators and artists and select the design on the basis of art composition and its leaning market values,” said Rupak Shrestha, one of the owners of Local Pasal.[break]



Any individual can submit their picture, designs for the T-shirts through localpasal.com, and if their designs are selected, the company either provides royalty per T-shirt sale or provides the money in the beginning for the design according to the mutual understanding.



Currently, the company has introduced the T-shirts on four different themes in an array of colors at Rs 600 as an introductory offer. The company will soon add 21 other designs for which it has already opened booking through their Facebook page and the website. “Though we have online store only as for now, we will soon be opening own store before the Dashain,” said Mike Yonjan, another owner of the store.



Once the store is opened, Local Pasal will focus on jackets and hoods for the winter. Besides, the company stated that it will also launch other commodities, which will be disclosed later.



Shrestha said that the company adds new designs every month, and currently they are providing free delivery of their T-shirts inside the Kathmandu Valley.
