Lissanevitch registered a comprehensive 6-0, 6-0 win over Karki for the title. Lissanevitch expressed her satisfaction over the final match. “I enjoyed the game as we had at least 10 deuces and the atmosphere helped me play well.”[break]
This edition was her last appearance as Lissanevitch turns 17 next year. “I will miss this tournament,” she said, and added, “But I will play in another age group tournament this year which will be my last one in age bar tournaments.”
In the U-16 boys singles, Aslesha´s brother Ivanhoe Lissanevitch, romped past Pranav Kayastha 6-0, 6-0 for his first U-16 title. After the win, Ivanhoe said that the final was not tough for him. “I am happy to win the U-16 title for the first time.”

He added that the final was not as tough as he had expected. “It would have been great if Milan Rokaya had been there in the final. I had lost to Rokaya in the previous edition.”
In the U-12 boys single, Samrakshan Bhusan Bajracharya won the title defeating Renzen Lama 6-3, 7-5.
Altogether 123 players had participated in five different age group categories in the six-day tournament.
ITF elects Thapa for presidency
The fifth general assembly of the Nepal International Taekwondo Federation (ITF) elected Kumar Thapa as the president of its executive committee on Saturday.
The general assembly also elected a 17-member executive committee for next four years. Chetan Raj Giri and Anjunath Shrestha are the vice presidents of the new committee while Rewat Bahadur Rana has been elected general secretary.
Rana was a member in the previous executive committee. Shanti Tamang is the secretary of the new committee while Bijay Shrestha is the treasurer.
Likewise, the general assembly elected Bishwa Shrestha, Tham Bahadur Bahik, Basanta Kumar Gurung, Prabhu Narayan Siwakoti, Prabin Kumar Karki, Umesh Rajthala, Phatima BB, Basudev Bhatta, Sneha Nepali, Nanda Kishor Berma and Aju Raut as executive members.
Malla wins Hyundai Open golf
Prithvi Malla clinched the title of the Hyundai Open Golf Tournament on Saturday. Malla scored 40 points in the tournament played at the Army Officers´ Golf Club under ¾ handicaps stable ford format.
Niraj Pun remained on the second position with 36 points. Nishchaya Jung Rayamajhi became the gross winner. Mandip KC won the award for the longest drive while IK Mainali claimed the closest to the pin award.

Mahesh Bikram Karki shot three birdies and won the award for the most birdies. Pradeep Pratap Bam Malla claimed the senior title while Bhairaja Pandey was declared guest winner of the tournament. Sushila Thapa has claimed ladies´ title of the tournament on Friday while Prerana Malla emerged runner-up.
Singh clinches Everest Express Cup
Ojasvi CB Singh lifted the running trophy of the Everest Express Cup, golf tournament, on Saturday.
Singh scored 37 points to clinch men´s title in the tournament played under stable ford ¾ handicaps format at the Royal Nepal Golf Club.
Karma C Gurung became men´s runner-up with 34 points. Winner Singh received a Silk Air ticket for Kathmandu-Singapore-Kathmandu. Shree Jay Acharya won the best gross title while Bishnu Kumar Rai won the senior title.
Pushpa Rai became the ladies´ winner as PL Thapa was awarded with super senior winner trophy. Rahul Agrawal won the title in junior section. Shree Jaya Acharya claimed award for the most birdies while Binay Raj Pandey was awarded with enthusiastic golfer award.
Mega Three Star celebrates victory
Mega Three Star Club celebrated the title victory in the Budhasubba Gold Cup at amidst a function in Lalitpur on Saturday.
Three Star felicitated players and the officials of the winning team. Mega Three Star had claimed the Budhasubba Gold Cup for the fourth time last week.
Constituent Assembly member Raj Kaji Maharjan and club president Lalit Krishna Shrestha praised players and officials for their brilliant performance in the tournament held in Dharan.
Annapurna trail run from Monday
The 12th edition of the Annapurna Mandala Trail will start Monday from Jomsom in Mustang.
The trail covers a distance of 275 km which the athletes have to cover in 11 days.
The runners have to cover a distance of 15 km to 45 km in a day. In the ultra marathon, the runners have to go through different altitudes.
The trail starts from Jomsom and passes through Kagbeni, Chele, Geling, Dhakmar, Lo Manthang, Luri Gompa, Tangee, Muktinath, Thorong La pass, Tilicho Lake and concludes in Jomsom.
Altogether 24 runners, along with three Nepali runners, are participating in the trail run. Runners from Switzerland, France, and Belgium have already landed in Nepal for the race.
Tusal beats Trinity

Tusal Youth Club defeated Trinity Club 2-0 in the Red Bull B Division National League on Saturday at Buddhi Bikash Mandal ground, Lagankhel.
Tusal took the lead through Shyam Babu Magar, who scored in the 48th minute. Bartaman Rai confirmed the victory for Tusal with the second goal in the 86th minute.
With the win, Tusal is placed in the fifth position with nine points from six matches. In the first match of the day, Chyasal Youth Club and Kasturi Yuwa Club played a goalless draw.
Chyasal is placed in the seventh position with four points from six matches.
Army off to winning start
Defending Champion Nepal Army started the Fourth Nationwide Open Volleyball Tournament with a win at Namuna Machhindra High School court, Lagankhel.
In the inaugural match, Nepal Army beat Armed Police Force 25-19, 25-17, 25-16. Altogether six teams are participating in the tournament to be played in round robin league format.
Bansbari Club renews contract
Mahindra Bansbari Club has renewed its contract with Shree Agni Incorporated on Saturday.
Prem Thapa from Bansbari and Gyan Chamling from Shree Agni Incorporated signed the contract.
The club felicitated the players who represented the club in the season´s league.
Bansbari Club felicitated coach Hari Om Shrestha with Rs 50, 000. Bansbari felicitated him for leading the club into A division after taking charge since the club was in the C Division.
The club also distributed lifetime membership to 25 members of the club.
Bansbari´s general secretary and member of All Nepal Football Association, Madhusudan Upadhya, donated Rs 100,000 for the club.
The club also informed that it will sign new players for the upcoming British Gurkha Cup and Martyrs Memorial A Division League.
