BABIYACHOUR (Myagdi), May, 26: The task of resuming the vehicular movement along the Beni-Jomsom road has been affected as the landslide is still taking place at Baisari, the border of Bhagawati and Ramche VDCs in Myagdi district.

Brigade Commander of the Nepalese Army No 23 Brigade, Baglung, Prakash KC, said that although human resources and equipments are kept in a ready position they failed to carry out works regarding opening the road and draining out the pond that has formed in the river due to the continuous landslide as there was possibility of further risk.

The landslide has obstructed the road section and also dammed the river up to about two kilometers at Baisari. It is said 30 per cent water is yet to drain out from what remains of the lake, said security officers, who inspected the sites on Monday.

KC said that works were underway to resume the obstructed highway and to drain out the water from the pond on the basis of advice of the geologists. RSS
