KATHMANDU, Jan 26: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chairman Rabi Lamichhane appeared before the Rupandehi District Ccourt along with a legal practitioner at 10:25 am on Sunday for detention hearing.
The detention hearing began on Thursday at the bench of District Judge Pralhad Kumar Yogi in the Butwal-based Supreme Cooperative fraud case. Now, five legal practitioners from Lamichhane's side will argue. The detention hearing is being held in the bench of Judge Yogi.
Advocates Raman Shrestha, Pashupati Bhandari, Narayan Dutt Kandel, Suraj Basnet, Sunita Raut, Rajendra Sedhai and other legal practitioners are scheduled to argue on behalf of Lamichhane. Last Friday, two lawyers argued on behalf of the cooperative victims and three on behalf of Lamichhane.
After the government lawyers conclude their arguments, the judge will decide on the detention hearing. As the hearing on the case is not complete with some lawyers yet to present their arguments on Friday, Lamichhane was handed over to his family on the condition that he must appear before the court again on Sunday.
