In the women´s singles, Preeti Rijal and Malika Rana secured seats for the final as they defeated Aslesha Lissanevitch 6-1, 6-0 and Kalpana Thapa Magar 6-4, 6-0 respectively.
Kamal Thapa thrashed Uttam Lama 6-1, 6-1 while Krishna Raj Ghale struggled past Suwarna Dhakwa 6-3, 4-6, 10-5 in the veterans´ singles (above 45) matches.In the veterans´ singles (above 55) category, Prithvi Thakali thrashed Deepak Shrestha 6-1, 6-0 to enter the final.
Likewise, in the men´s doubles, the pair of Kumar Adhikari and Jitendra Pariyar entered the final by thrashing Maheshwar Tiwari and Gagan Maharjan 6-0, 6-1, while Shree Ram Magar teamed with Manoj Rana to oust Shreeyans Karki and Hari Hayu 6-1, 6-1.
In the semifinals of the veteran´s doubles, the pair of Krishna Raj Ghale and Suwarna Dhakhwa defeated Rajesh Shrestha and Dharma Ratna Shahi 6-1, 6-2, while Sanu Lama teamed with Manoj Rana ousted Uttam Lama and Rajesh Chhetri 6-1, 6-4.
In the quarterfinals of the veterans´ singles (above 35), Rajesh Chhetri thrashed Manoj Shah 6-0, 6-0 in straight sets. In the other matches of the same category, Sanu Lama overpowered Sukaman Tamang 6-0, 6-0 while Kamal Thapa defeated Harbindra Singh Chatta 6-2, 6-1. Rajesh Chhetri also defeated Gopal Manandhar 6-1, 6-1.
The closing ceremony and prize distribution of the championship will be held after the final matches on Friday.
Nepal win T20 practice match
KATHMANDU, Nov 19: Nepali national cricket team won the fourth practice match in Delhi on Thursday. Nepal defeated Lal Bahadur Shastri cricket club by four wickets in the match.
Batting first, LBSCC put up 95 as their five batsmen were run out. Shakti Gauchan and Binod Das took two wickets each. In reply, Nepal met the target in 19.2 overs losing their six wickets. Dipendra Chaudhary struck 39 runs to guide Nepal to victory.
Nepal is playing practice matches in Delhi ahead of ACC T-20 Cup to be held in Dubai from November 20.
India to build parapet in Pokhara stadium
POKHARA, Nov 19: India has expressed interest to built parapet in the Pokhara Stadium. The Indian embassy has asked a detailed proposal for the construction.
According to Kaski District Sports Development Committee, India has assured that it would spend Rs 300 million for the parapet. “We have already sent the proposal to build six parapets around the stadium," committee´s chief executive Gobinda Pandit told myrepublica.com.
