KATHMANDU, Aug 11: National champion and Candidate Master Keshab Shrestha ended the Asian Continental Chess Championship held in UAE with a defeat on Tuesday.
Keshab, who faced fourth defeat in the ninth round, the last round, went down against International Master IT Baser of Syria in the 68th move. It was the fourth defeat for Keshab rated 2118.

He earned draws in four boards and won one. Keshav committed mistake during the 55th move, which forced him to surrender in the 68th move. Grand Master Salim Saleh of the UAE claimed the title, while Grand Master Surya Shekhar and PP Seturam of India finished second and third respectively.
Keshab is also scheduled to play rapid and blitz events.
