BANEPA, June 18: The Kathmandu University that had been running the Intermediate in Science (ISc) program for the last 16 years is scraping the program for good from this year.

The ISc program of KU dates back to 1985 when the Kathmandu Valley Campus started the program under the affiliation with Tribhuvan University.

The program was run under KU´s board from 1992 when the university opened.

The university has produced 2,608 ISc degree holders so far.

The latest decision has disappointed students in Banepa and Kavre waiting for their SLC results, after which they had planned to get enrolled in KU´s ISc program and later medical studies.
