Kaski defeated Chitwan by two wickets in the final match played at the Pulchowk Cricket Ground on Tuesday. Chitwan, batting first put up 196 runs on the scoreboard as they were all out in the 23.3 overs. Bhagawati Thapa took seven wickets for Kaski and put a spanner on Chitwan´s aggressive batting. In reply, Kaski met the 197-run target in 22.4 overs losing eight wickets. Twenty-five overs were allotted in each innings of the match. Woman-of-the-match Thapa contributed 12 runs to lead Kaski to victory.
Likewise, Manakeshari Chaudhary from Chitwan won the award for best player of the tournament. Chaudhary struck 69 runs, took four wickets against Lumbini on Monday, and helped Chitwan to reach the final. Chaudhary struck the maximum boundaries in the tournament. She struck 26 boundaries in three matches of the tournament excluding the final.
The First Secretary of Australian Embassy to Nepal, Elizabeth Moran gave away the prizes and awards to the winners and runners-up. The Cricket Association of the Blind, Nepal organized the four-day long tournament, in which four teams -- Banke, Lumbini, Chitwan and Kaski -- participated.
