They had reached the DAO as a part of "Beti Bachau" (save the daughters) protest campaign with brooms, mud utensils and half burned woods.
The struggle committee has continued protest against death of a 6-year-old girl Puja Sha, who succumbed to rape injuries.
“The campaigners clashed with police for some 20 minutes as they reached the DAO at around 2 pm this afternoon,” said eyewitness human right activist Om Prakash Giri. According to the committee, some half a dozen protesters were injured in the clash.
Chief District Office, Bal Krishna Panti said that a police constable got injured as protesters pelted stones at the cops.

Sah was allegedly raped by Kanhaiya Gupta, 28, of Kalaiya-6 on February 20. A day after the incident, she was found lying unconscious on the spot where she was raped. She was airlifted to Kathmandu the next day.
The protesters have demanded investigation into the incident, resignation of Minister for Home Affairs, Rs one million in compensation among others.
Meanwhile, the local administration has called the representatives of struggle committee for talks through DSP Rabindra Regmi.
