Laxmi Chaudhary scored the first goal for Kailali in the 29th minute and Mina Chaudhary added a second in the 64th minute. Kailali, which received a bye in the first round, had defeated Taplejung 3-1 in the pre-quarterfinal on Wednesday.[break]
Meanwhile, Morang edged past Ilam 1-0 on Friday to advance into the last-eight thanks to Samrachana Pradhan´s lone goal in the 65th minute. Pradhan had scored eight goals in Morang´s 10-1 victory over Bardiya in the first round.
Rupandehi takes on Panchthar in Sunawal on Saturday. Dhanusha defeated Sunsari 3-1 at the Gauritar Ground in Makawanpur on Friday to book its spot in the quarterfinals.
Pramila Sunuwar opened the scoring for Dhanusha in the fourth minute but Rekha Paudel leveled the scores six minutes after the break. Melina Paudel scored a free-kick in the 63rd minute to restore Dhanusha´s lead and Sunuwar added a third to seal victory.
In the quarterfinal, Dhanusha will meet the winner of the match between Nepal Police and Rautahat. Rautahat defeated Kanchanpur 5-2 on Friday to reach the second round of the tournament. Anita KC scored a brace for Rautahat while Manika Kushwaha, Rabina Gole and Manju Dong added a goal each. Punam Paswan and Sima Chaudhary were on target for Kanchanpur.
