"The Indian leaders have expressed concern about the [Nepali] Maoists´ recent statements and activities," Khanal told reporters at Tribhuvan International Airport upon his arrival after a weeklong New Delhi visit.
Khanal urged the Maoists not to resort to protests but to resolve the ongoing political deadlock through dialogues among the political parties.
Khanal, who dubbed his visit to the southern neighbor as a goodwill visit, claimed that his visit to India was successful to strengthen the existing relations, harmony and cooperation between Nepal and India.

He said he held broad discussions with senior Indian leaders. According to him, his talks with the Indian ministers and leaders were mainly focused on Nepal-India cooperation, Nepal´s peace process, security situation, constitution making and relations among Nepal´s political parties.
According to him, the Indian leaders suggested to give priority to the peace process and constitution writing. He also said the Indian leaders were of the view that Nepal´s political parties are the ones who should find out the ways to resolve the country´s internal matters.
He said the Indian government was in favor of Nepali people solving their problems on their own and that India has promised support for Nepal to move ahead on an approach fixed by the Nepali people. "What India can do is just to extend friendly support to Nepal," the UML chief quoted Indian leaders as saying.
In a journalist´s query, Khanal said the formation of a national unity government was CPN-UML´s stance and that the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon´s suggestion for such a government in Nepal was not wrong. "UML is the first political party that lobbied for forming a national unity government ever since the Constituent Assembly election and we have been consistently reiterating the idea," he said.
During his stay in India, Khanal had held talks with Indian prime minister, home minister, finance minister and opposition leader, among others.
