India provides NRs. 24.80 million for a school building in Bara

KATHMANDU, July 1: Indian ambassador to Nepal, Jayant Prasad, inaugurated the newly constructed school building for Shree Nepal Rashtriya Higher Secondary School in Bara on Monday.



Issuing a press statement on Monday, the Indian embassy in Kathmandu said that the new school building was built with Indian assistance of NRs. 24.80 million.

“In addition to this project, the school building for Shree Kankali Secondary School has been built with Indian assistance of NRs. 4.5 million and the work for the construction of a bridge over Bangari River is going on at a cost of NRs. 31.79 million. India has also provided nine ambulances and three school buses in the district,” embassy said in a statement. [break]



The embassy has said that India is also constructing two roads totaling 65.9 km i.e. MRM (Tamagarhi) – Simraungarh and MRM (Manmat) – Kalaiya-Matiyarwa Road in Bara under Phase-I of the ongoing Terai Roads Project in Nepal. “The Project envisages the construction of 19 links/postal roads covering a total length of 605 km in the Terai Districts with Indian financial assistance totaling approximately NRs. 11 billion,” reads a statement.



Inaugurating the new building ambassador Prasad underlined the importance of the Nepal–India Economic Cooperation Programme as a cornerstone of the development partnership between the two countries. He expressed the hope that the various projects being implemented under the programme will help the people of Nepal in their strides towards peace and prosperity.
