KATHMANDU, Aug 12: Madhesi leaders from UCPN (Maoist) have demanded to include hilly districts - Makawanpur, Sindhuli and Udayapur -in Province No. 2.

Showing the economic backwardness of Tharu and Madhesi communities inhabiting in the hinterland of the Tarai region as the main reason, the Madhesi leaders have started expressing dissatisfaction over the demarcation of Province 2 as it lacks hill districts.

The Province No. 2 has been proposed as elongating from Saptari to Parsa. The stakeholders have shown concerns over the future of the province in terms of natural and economic recourses as the province is not connected with the northern neighbor China – which is heading to be the world's top economic power.
