KATHMANDU, Oct 24: Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) has set airfares to operate air services in the hill districts of the far-west. The corporation has fixed the fare for air services after the road was blocked in the hill districts due to rains.
Ram Krishna Bhatta, chief of Dhangadhi Airport, informed Republica that the airfare from Dhangadhi to Doti is Rs 2,615 and from Doti to Dhangadhi is Rs 2,515, from Dhangadhi to Bajhang is Rs 3,995 and from Bajhang to Dhangadhi Rs 3,895.
Airfare of domestic flights reduced
He said that test flights would be conducted starting from today to operate air services in the hill districts based on Dhangadhi as the passenger flow has increased recently. According to him, the first flight from Dhangadhi to Doti's Dipayal and the second flight to Bajhang is taking place today.
NAC has announced the schedule for the flights from Dhangadhi to the hill districts. As airfares are cheaper, locals are demanding regular flights. According to the airport, passengers are facing more problems as only one airline is operating flights at present.
Students and employees from Kathmandu, Pokhara, Dhangadhi, Nepalgunj and other districts who had come home to celebrate Dashain will be able to return to their jobs. They were stranded after the Jaya Prithvi Highway was blocked on Sunday following landslides.
