In memory of Niranjan Bhattarai

KATHMANDU, Oct 29: Late diplomat Niranjan Bhattarai’s book ‘Aatmabrittanta Tatha Smritipushpa’ was launched by Finance Minister Shankar Prasad Koirala at a program held at Hotel Radisson, Lazimpat on Tuesday. Writer Krishna Prasad Parajuli, Prof Bidhyanath Upadhyaya Bhatta and Historian Tulsi Ram Vaidya were the chief guests for the event.



Anoop Ranjan Bhattarai, the writer’s son shared, “The book is divided into two parts. The first part is my father’s autobiography and the second part incorporates around 40 articles related with my father, written by others.”  [break]



Addressing the audience, Vaidya shared, “The book speaks about Bhattarai’s work experiences. He had visited many countries while working, and during the visits his friendly encounters strengthened Nepal’s relations with those countries. His contribution to promote Nepal-China relations is remarkable.”



Bhattarai was a great diplomat, with experiences of working with the Foreign Ministry for a long time. He founded School of International Languages, which is presently incorporated under Tribhuvan University as Bishwa Bhasa Campus. He had also been felicitated with many national and international recognitions. These and many other contributions of the persona to the Nepali society are much looked up to.
