The survey had taken off with the formation of district secretariats at 25 districts, including Gorkha. [break]
Local Development Officer (LDO) Mahesh Baral said they have already handed over the information collected to the Survey Department board, but they had been no response.
“The main problem is that the whole program lacks proper directives that would have eased the delay in no time,” said Baral.
“The survey was done under the directive of the district secretariats and employees were duly deployed, but these plans have not been implemented due to lack of definite work procedures,” he added.
Meanwhile, Director of the Survey Department Dundiraj Lamichane has said that they were not able to forward the work due to insufficient financial support.
“We had cleared the required budget from the Ministry of Poverty Alleviation, but it didn´t last long enough to cover all the work, and just last month we took another Rs 250 million from the Ministry of Finance. We will now complete the remaining work in no time.” said Lamichanee.
