HLPCC decides to exhibit utmost flexibility

KATHMANDU, Oct 29: The meeting of High Level Political Coordination Committee (HLPCC) held at Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar on Thursday morning decided to exhibit utmost flexibility to address demands of agitating Madheshi Front.

A leader attending the meeting said the meet focused on expressing written commitments with front on precondition set by the front.     

Following the meeting, the committee member and General Secretary of the CPN (ML) CP Mainali informed that the meeting stressed on resolving political problem from the political level itself. He added that the next meeting of the committee will be held this evening with concrete plan aimed at resolving the standoff in the Terai.

According to Pramod Dahal, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli's press advisor, the meeting discussed various contemporary issues including the ongoing efforts to end the fuel crisis, talks with Madhesi parties and political situation following the elections of the new president among others.

“Members aired their views during the meet,” he said.

The meeting also focused on seeking agreement with Nepali Congress on election of vice-president.

A meeting between Madheshi Front and government team at Ministry for Foreign Affairs at 1 pm this afternoon.

Various leaders of CPN-UML, UCPN (Maoist), and RPP-Nepal, MPRF-Democratic and supporter parties of the incumbent government are participating the meeting held under the HLPCC head UCPN (M) chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal.
