Following a meeting held between the HLPC and FSP at the office of the HLPC in New Baneshwor this morning, Ashok Rai and Ram Chandra Poudel signed the deal on behalf of respective sides. [Break]
After the deal, the prospect of proposed CA polls scheduled for November 19 has been boosted.
"Parties have forged a deal on the 601-strength CA as the erstwhile one held in 2064 BS and will create environment conducive for Nepali migrants to cast their votes in the elections," said UML leader Raghuji Panta emerging from the meeting.
With the agreement, the FSP has withdrawn all its protest programs and now has featured in the list of those parties that will take part in the forthcoming CA elections.
According to the deal, the HLPC and FSP would request the government to hold a meeting of all parties represented in the dissolved CA for the guarantee of the declared CA election.
Likewise, both the parties have agreed to make the 601-member size of CA like in the last poll.
Similarly, the two sides have also agreed to proceed with the ensuring voting rights to those Nepali residing in foreign countries, by making necessary legal provision as soon as possible.
