Govt set to declare 41 new municipalities

KATHMANDU, June 29: The government is preparing to declare 41 new municipalities in the country. According to Indu Ghimire, deputy spokesperson at Ministry of Local Development, the ministry has proposed to declare them under the 100-day programs of the new government.



The proposal has been made as per the recommendation made by a study committee last year. This will involve merger of some Village Development Committees(VDCs) or parts of other VDCs into one.
