KATHMANDU, Nov 6: Nepali Congress youth leader Sachin Timalsina has accused the government of focusing on political stunts and media publicity rather than strengthening the country’s economy and pursuing policy reforms.
In a social media post, Timalsina said the government’s priorities should be economic recovery, creating an investment-friendly environment, and introducing policy and structural reforms across various sectors.

However, he alleged that the government was instead preoccupied with dragging others into controversies after its own election commander was exposed as a middleman, concealing phones for two days and engaging in public disputes.
“If it cannot find anyone else to fight with, it picks a fight with its own party president on Facebook. The old tactics of stunts and media publicity continue,” he wrote, commenting on the government’s working style.
Timalsina said that if the government believed the country could be built through stunts alone, he had nothing further to say, adding that valuable time was being wasted.
“We have hoped from the very beginning that the two-thirds majority, which came at our expense, would be put to proper use. But the government does not appear serious,” he wrote.
