Govt approves two anti-money laundering ordinances

KATHMANDU, JUN 6: A cabinet meeting Thursday endorsed two ordinances related to the second amendment of the Anti-Money Laundering Act 2008 and the Proceed of Crime Bill each and decided to forward them to the president for approval.



The meeting also decided to appoint Dr Dandapani Poudel as general manager of Deposit Insurance and Credit Guarantee Corporation ( DICGC). Poudel was among those recommended by the Public Enterprises Board for the post. [break]



Likewise the meeting approved the decision to send a delegation under education minister to an international conference of education ministers of Asia and Pacific region to be held in South Korea, according to Minister for Information and Communications Madhav Prasad Ghimire.
