Issuing a press release today, Chairman of the Association, Rajan Karki, warned of launching agitation if their demands were not addressed.
The Association demanded lump sum increase in the salaries and allowances, saying the salaries and allowances increased on the basis of percentage were not practical.
Karki stressed that dress allowance should be equal to permanent employees, festival expenses, insurance (one million rupees), provident fund, grades and guarantee of employment. [break]
The press release also demanded that minimum salary should be fixed as Rs. 18,400 and as per the posts of contract based employees and daily remuneration of wage-based employees should be fixed as Rs. 650 per day.
Similarly, it also demanded that giving works now being carried out by the Garden Section under the Ministry of Forest and Soil-Conservation in contract be immediately stopped as 24 employees working in the section will lose their jobs.
Likewise, the Association demanded stopping of discrimination on salary facilities saying employees working in different posts including postmen, drivers, computer operators, office assistants and watchmen at the post offices in all the 75 districts under the Department of Postal Services were discriminated.
The press release demands to start process of making all temporary employees, contract and wage-based employees as well as other employees, who worked at least 240 days, permanent.
