Kathmandu, April 28: The death toll in the devastating Gorkha earthquake on Saturday has so far reached 4,731, with 9,239 injured.
According to latest update by Nepal Police, the quake fatalities include 1,039 in Kathmandu, 250 in Bhaktapur and 159 in Lalitpur with injuries to 2,142, ; 1,889 and 1,060 respectively in the three cities in the valley.
Likewise, 17 tourists have been confirmed dead in the tremor, including 9 in Kathmandu, 7 in Solukhumbu and one in Makwanpur. Another five tourists were injured in the disaster.
So far, bodies of a total of 3,985 people killed in the quake have been handed over to their respective families and next to kin, police said. RSS
