GORKHA, March 11: Quake victims in Gorkha have been badly hit due to an incessant snowfall compounded by blizzards continuing for the last two days. Quake-hit VDCs in Gorkha including Barpak, Larpak, Gumda, Bihi, Lho, Prok, Chhekampar, Samagaun have received snowfall.


The schools have remained closed while the locals have not been able to come out of the house, said Raj Gurung of Larpak. The snowfall is continuing till Saturday morning.

Then snowfall has hit especially quake victims with the snowfall in the upper region and heavy rainfall in the local part of the district. The strong wind followed by snowfall has blown away the huts of the victims at Saurpani, said Milan Dhakal, a local.


The life of the quake victims has been brought to a grinding halt due to the snowfall compounded by the gale. The schools, community buildings and private shanties  have remained closed. The damages caused by the snowfall are yet to estimated, said District Police Office, Gorkha.
