Officials of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers Association (Negosida) that fix the prices of gold in the local market attributed the rise to international price rally.
“We were forced to revise the gold price upward as the price of yellow metal rose in the international bullion market and rupee also weakened against the dollar,” Diyesh Ratna Shakya, secretary of of Negosida, told Republica.
On Thursday, Nepali rupee had shed about 55 paisa against a dollar compared to the previous day.
"This added to our import cost," Shakya added.
