Five species of vulture in Arghakhanchi

ARGHAKANCHI, April 21: The district is learnt to have five kinds of vulture, the bird known as the cleaner of nature. It was informed at an interaction organized here on Monday.

The species of the vulture found both in hilly region and the southern plains are found in the district.


Expert on vulture conservation campaign, Krishna Prasad Bhushal, said there were five species of the vultures which are locally known as dangar, sun, gobre, himali and hadfor.

The interaction was held by different community forests with the assistance from Nepal Bird Conservation, Kathmandu.

At the interaction, expert Bhushal, Chief of the District Livestock Office, Ram Narayan Mandal and Officer Khadanand Poudel gave information as the settlements and habits of different species of vulture. RSS
