"More than 5.2 million voters who have citizenship certificates are yet to be registered," said Jitendra Sonal, Joint Secretary of TMDP.
He further said that the existing number of constituencies should be increased by five in the Tarai. "More than 50 percent of the country´s population lives in the Tarai, so the region should get a minimum of 121 constituencies out of the 240 set aside for first-past-the-post system," he said.
