KATHMANDU, May 21: Heads of EU Missions and ambassadors of Norway and the United States on Thursday expressed hope that "a new government will be formed as quickly as possible to allow the parties, inside and outside government, to work together to deliver on the key commitments of the peace process and on the needs of the people of Nepal."

In a statement issued by the Embassy of Finland, which holds the local presidency of EU in Nepal, said they have also called upon the political parties to cooperate with the chairman of the Constituent Assembly and "use the mechanisms laid down in the Interim Constitution for government formation, reflecting the views of the majority of the members of the CA."

The statement added that they urged "constructive engagement of all parties in the political process which is essential to help deliver peace and prosperity for Nepal."
