UML agrees to end house stalemate following agreement with ruling parties

KATHMANDU, May 27: The ruling parties and the main opposition party CPN-UML have agreed to stop remaining adamant on their stances in a bid to end the current political impasse.

KATHMANDU, May 27: The ruling parties and the main opposition party CPN-UML have agreed to stop remaining adamant on their stances in a bid to end the current political impasse.


According to the agreement they reached, the government will form a committee  entrusted with the responsibility of conducting a fair probe into the alleged ballot rigging . CPN-UML has been accusing the government of rigging the results of the May 14  local polls in some districts.

In addition, the government has also become ready to withdraw the impeachment motion against Chief Justice Shushila Karki registered at the Parliament Secretariat.


In a response to the flexibility demonstrated by the government, the main opposition party CPN-UML has agreed to not disrupt the house proceedings in the days to come, according to House Speaker Onsari Gharti’s press advisor Bashudev Sharma  aka Babin.
