Many such ideas, models and prototypes were demonstrated at the 10th National Technological Festival organized by Locus 2013, a group of fourth year electronics and computer and electrical faculty students. The three-day festival kicked off at Pulchowk Campus premises on Friday and was jointly inaugurated by Ananda Raj Khanal, the Director of Nepal Telecommunications Authority, Prof Dr Subarna Shakya and Prof Timila Yami, Assistant Deans at Institute of Engineering (IOE).[break]
The festival this year was based on the theme of ‘Engineering Rural Development’ and about 40 projects, both on and off the theme, was presented by engineering students. “The objective of this festival is to bring out ideas on how rural development of Nepal can be assisted through technology,” informed Bijay Poudel of Locus 2013.
Various hardware, software and electronics exhibitions and competitions, paper presentations, 3D movie showcase and a code camp will take place as a part of this technological fair which will close on June 30.
