Eight arrested over smuggling timber in Chitwan National Park

CHITAWAN, April 12: Eight people have been arrested over smuggling timber in eastern sector of Chitwan National Park (CNP) on Sunday. The Park authorities arrested them along with three tractors laden with smuggled timber. The authorities have declined giving the names of those arrested citing ongoing investigation. According to Narendra Babu Pradahan, chief conservation officer, the arrested have been put in custody for necessary investigation.
