EC receives complaints against UCPN (Maoist) candidates
The EC on Sunday received two separate complaints against UCPN (Maoist) candidates under the proportional electoral system.
According to Rai, Radheshyam Biswakarma of Biswa Satyabadi Party filed complaints against UCPN (Maoist) candidates Anita Kumari Pariyar and Dhana Maya BK.
Biswakarma, in his complaint, has stated both of the UCPN (Maoist) are incumbent members of the National Dalit Commission.
Meanwhile, Sabitri Shrestha, elder sister of slain Ujjan Kumar Shrestha, has said that she will file a complaint at the EC on Monday against UCPN (Maoist) candidate Balkrishna Dhungel, who is convicted by the Supreme Court (SC) of murder.
“His candidacy must be scrapped as he has been convicted of murder by the apex court,” she told Republica.
Earlier, Ram Kumari Jhakri, CPN-UML youth leader, has already filed a complaint against Dhungel demanding that the commission annul his candidacy.
The EC has given a seven days beginning last Thursday to file complaints against candidates under the proportional electoral system.
