DPM greeted with black flags

KATHMANDU, June 5: Deputy Prime Minister and parliamentary party leader of the Madhesi People’s Rights Forum (MPRF) Bijaya Kumar Gachchhadar was greeted with black flags by supporters of party Chairman Upendra Yadav when he arrived at the party’s central office at Shankhamul on Friday morning. Gachchhadar, who also has the portfolio of Ministry of Physical Planning and Works, reached the office along with a few party lawmakers to pay homage to the martyrs. They broke the padlock placed in the main entrance of the office building.

Supporters of the two leaders also engaged in a brief clash when Gachchhadar emerged from the party’s office after paying homage to the martyrs during the Madhes movement. Police used force to disperse the mob.

Gachchhadar’s windscreen was slightly damaged when the agitating Yadav supporters threw stones at his vehicle, according to police.

Gachchhadar and his supporters were forced to flee the scene, claimed BP Yadav, a leader close to party chairman Yadav.
