The activists waved black flags at the DPM, who reached Birgunj to attend a party workers´ gathering, in front of the Power House Chowk in Birgunj and at Simara in Bara.
The police used light force to disburse the crowd and arrested four Maoists and four MPRF cadres.
Gachchhadar was accompanied by security personnel to Birgunj from Simara airport. A large number of security personnel was mobilized for the event.
The DPM was accompanied by four other ministers from his party including Tourism Minister Sarat Singh Bhandari, Minister for Agriculture and Cooperatives Mrigendra Kumar Singh, State Minister for Agriculture and Cooperatives Karima Begum and State Minister for Physical Planning Kalawati Paswan.
