With black bands tied around their heads, the DoTM employees marched to Lalitpur District Administration Office on Thursday to press for action against the perpetrators.
The DoTM employees also wore black bands around their heads all the day in protest.
Dhungana has claimed that the assailants were policemen.
“I know they are plain-clothed policemen," said Dhungana. “They barged into my room, locked it from inside and beat me up. They thrashed me inhumanly."
The DAO, however, is yet to confirm whether policemen were involved in the attack.
Lalitpur´s CDO Sashi Sekhar Shrestha said the three involved in the attack will be definitely brought to the book. “We will not spare whoever is involved in the attack," said Shrestha. "But, we are still trying to confirm whether the assailants are from the Nepal Police."
Apart from his job at the DoTM, Dhungana has also been working as a certified traffic volunteer. He was awarded with National Environmental Conservation Prize by the Ministry of Environment (MoE) for his contribution to environment conservation in 2011.
“I always work for society´s welfare,” said Dhungana, adding, “Some people are jealous of my work. So, they resorted to such shameful activities.”
