BAGLUNG, July 27: Headquarters of all four districts in Dhaulagiri zone have been cut off from the rest of the district due to landslides and floods following incessant rainfall.

Pokhara-Baglung road has been obstructed due to rain while landslide in Armadi of Parvat has left vehicles coming to Myagdi and Baglung districts from different parts of the country stranded. Similarly, vehicles going to Kathmandu, Pokhara, Narayanghat and other parts of the country from Myagdi and Baglung have also been affected. [break]

Parvat district police said thousands of passengers have been left stranded midway through their journey and efforts to clear the obstructed roads have been affected by continuous landslides. Baglung-Burtibang and Baglung-Kushmishera roads have also been obstructed.

Similarly, Maldhunga-Beni road and all other rural roads linking villages with the Myagdi district headquarters have been obstructed. Mustang district has been disconnected from the rest of the country for more than a week now.

Meanwhile, our Biratnagar correspondent Khila Nath Dhakal reports that Rajghat, Hasandaha and Itahara VDCs in Morang district have come under threat after Bakraha river eroded embankments.

The river has already eroded around 100 meters of embankments at Hasandaha-2 following heavy rainfall last week and locals fear hundreds of families and thousands of bigaha of cultivable land in the three VDCs would be affected if the river entered human settlement.
