DeerHack 2026 concludes with a focus on student innovation

The organisers claimed that DeerHack has grown into one of Nepal’s most prominent student-led technology events since its inception in 2023.

KATHMANDU, June 16: The fourth edition of DeerHack, Nepal’s leading student-led hackathon, concluded at the Deerwalk Complex after three days of innovation and collaboration. Organized by the DWIT Software Club, the event brought together 17 teams from Nepal and India to develop projects across tracks including Artificial Intelligence, Environment, Interactive Technology, and Blockchain.



Issuing a statement, the organisers said Team Profit.exe, comprising Deepa Khanal, Dipesh Singh, Sajan Sahi Karmi, and Manee Das Shrestha, was declared the Grand Winner for its innovation and technical excellence. The newly introduced Environment Track, reflecting this year’s theme of sustainability, was won by Team Goggins from G. H. Raisoni University, Pune, India.

The organisers claimed that DeerHack has grown into one of Nepal’s most prominent student-led technology events since its inception in 2023. This year’s edition not only highlighted technical creativity but also emphasized environmental responsibility, with participants challenged to design solutions addressing real-world sustainability concerns.


Beyond competition, the hackathon fostered community spirit through workshops, mentorship, and recreational activities, creating a vibrant atmosphere where students could learn, network, and collaborate, added the statement. Organizers added that DeerHack has become more than a contest—it is now a platform nurturing young talent and strengthening Nepal’s growing innovation ecosystem.
