Death toll from Kaski landslides reaches 37

POKHARA, Aug 4: The death toll from landslides that hit Kaski district has reached 37 as two more dead bodies were recovered on Tuesday morning, police said.

DSP Kedar Rajaure identified the deceased as Bishworaj Parajuli, 5, and 10-month-old Kismat Sunuwar of Bhadaure Tamagi -5, adding the dead bodies were found in Tarikhet adjacent to Fewa Lake.

“Locals informed police after discovering bodies of the kids floating in water,” he said, “The landslide had carried them to the lake banks.

Rajure said whereabouts of two others missing in the landslides is still unknown.
