Dang sends Rs 5.2 m to PM relief fund

TULSIPUR, May 17: Dang has so far has sent Rs 5.2 million to the Prime Minister Natural Disaster Relief Fund for the assistance of the survivors of recent devastating earthquake.

The amount has already been deposited to the Fund, according to Chief District Officer of Dang, Loknath Poudel. The assistance amount was collected through donations from government, private sectors and individuals in the district.


The fund raising campaign is still going on, said District Administration Office accountant Balchandra Gautam. The government employees of under-secretary and join-secretary level contributed 10 days' remuneration to the Fund while other employees donated five days of their salary for the beneficiary of disaster victims.

Meanwhile, Civil Society Dang deposited Rs 11,111 to the Fund. Various district-based organizations including business, transport organizations and people have reached the disaster-affected areas with relief goods, the DAO said. RSS
