Dahal vents ire at parties

KATHMANDU, June 27: Chairman of Unified Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) Pushpa Kamal Dahal said on Saturday that the parliamentary political parties aided by “foreign stooges” were trying their best not to let the peace process move ahead and complete the constitution-writing process. [break]



“They are playing dirty politics not to let the promulgation of a people-centric constitution and the peace process move ahead,” said Dahal while speaking at a function organized to welcome some three dozen Nepali film artistes to his party.



He said that foreign stooges were active to derail the peace process and prevent the constitution-writing process.







While stating that other political parties were are hatching conspiracy against the Maoists, he warned, “To play with the Maoists is to play with the fire.”



Welcoming the film artistes to his party, Dahal said that the party will get a new lease of life with the entry of new people into his party and claimed that more people from various walks of life would join the party in the days to come.



Artistes join Maoists







During the function, some four dozen film artistes announced joining the UCPN-Maoist. Among the artistes joining the Maoist party are Nir Shah, Yubaraj Lama, Mausami Malla and Rajendra Khadgi.



Welcoming the new entrants, Maoist chairman Dahal garlanded them and put vermilion powder on their forehead. Speaking on the occasion, Nir Shaha said he was standing at the most glorious moment of his life. He said the movies were fighting with the “film mafia” the as the Maoists were fighting for social justice. He also termed other political parties “witless who never bother about forging consensus for the betterment of the country”.
