CHITWAN, June 25: Nepali Congress (NC) central member Narahari Acharya has claimed that constitution-making will be unlikely if the NC does not secure its first position in the upcoming Constituent Assembly (CA) elections.

Inaugurating the district convention of Nepal Muslim Association in Chitwan on Monday, he asserted that the UCPN (Maoist), which has failed to manage internal disputes, could never act for the greater good of the country. [break]

Leader Acharya is in Chitwan for the past few days in course of imparting training to party cadres.

Claiming that the victory of NC is certain in Chitwan, he also issued directive to the cadres to work proactively in favour of democracy.

He also stressed that no pretentions are justifiable to obstruct election in this critical stage and called on dissent parties to come for negotiation.

Another youth leader of the Nepali Congress, Gagan Thapa underlined that the big parties should go to the extent of dissolving high-level political committee if it enables environment for election.

He stressed that a new political mechanism should be made to bring the dissent political parties to board if it helps hold election.
