COAS Rana to visit China

KATHMANDU, July 18: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Gaurav Shumsher JB Rana will leave for China visit  on Friday leading a five- member team at the official invitation of China´s PLA Chief Fang Fenhui.



The Army Public Relations Directorate informed of his ten-day visit at a press conference on Thursday. The army said the visit is a link of exchange of visits between the two countries since their establishment of diplomatic relations in 1955. [break]



CoAS Rana will hold talks with PLA chief Fang and Air Force Chief and Central Military Commission Vice Chairman Zhu Kyuling.



On the occasion, Rana will sign agreements on mobile hospital to be instrumental during disaster management under cooperation by Chinese military and for a cooperation of Rs. 880 million.



The cooperation is for the remaining amount from the visit of the former CoAS Chhatraman Singh Gurung.



Chinese army personnel are participating in jungle, mountain and staff training run by Nepal Army.



Likewise, Nepalese Army is also participating in trainings in China.
