CIAA regional office begins to receive complaints

POKHARA, Sept 19: With the establishment of the West Regional Office of the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA), the Office has begun to receive complaints regarding the abuse of authority committed by the persons in public positions.



The Office established in Naya Bazaar, Pokhara, started its works since Wednesday. The Office also started looking after 137 complaints filed at Regional Administration Office.[break]



The CIAA is expected to start looking into the complaints filed at the office, received through Post Office, published and disseminated in media and received through other sources.



Organizing a press conference here on Thursday, chief of the Regional Office of the CIAA, Durga Prasad Pokhrel, assured to open a contact office at Butwal in the near future though it was not possible to extend its area of work in all the 16 districts of the region right now.



The Office has as many as 50 staffs including the security personnel.
