According to Sarita Gyawali, Chief of the Central Zoo, the number of visitors has witnessed an increment by some three thousand as against the same day last year. Last year, some 21 thousand people had visited this sanctuary that houses some 870 mammals, birds, fish and reptiles of 109 species.As many as 30,000 visitors were expected to visit the zoo on the Nepali New Year Day but the sudden unfavorable change in the weather foiled the influx anticipated, shared Chief Gyawali.
The Zoo, sprawling across six hectares, has been attracting some 3,000 -5,000 visitors in a day on average.
While students are charged Rs 60 per ticket on concession, children below 12 years are charged Rs 50 and adults are charged double the children's fee. RSS
