The district administration has banned the production and sale of drinks produced by Barun Beverage Nepal Pvt Ltd. since July 18 after inedible substance was detected in its liquor.
The administration raided various cold stores in the district headquarters and seized a large quantity of drinks when inedible ingredients were found in its products, including Slice and Dew.
Police registered case against Adhikari under Public Offense Act.
Meanwhile, the district administration has started weekly monitoring of the market to check black marketeering and artificial shortage of essentials goods.
Monitoring is being carried out in the main commercial hub of the district since August, informed Assistant Chief District Officer, Santosh Poudel.
