Case filed against 26 people including PAC chair’s wife in connection with cooperative case

KATHMANDU, Dec 13: A case has been registered against 26 people including Anjala Koirala, the wife of chairman of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC), Rishikesh Pokharel, in connection with a co-operative fraud case.

On Thursday, the District Government Attorney Office, Morang, filed a cooperative fraud case against 26 people, including Anjala Koirala, for the embezzlement of funds of Umagouri Agricultural Cooperative Society Limited in Morang.

The case has been filed against them for the misappropriation of the cooperative’s funds.

The public prosecutor's office has demanded Rs 220 million in restitution of the cooperative. Anjala is a former director of the Umagouri Agricultural Cooperative.
