At an interaction organized by Bhaktapur branch of the Press Chautari Nepal, here on Tuesday, Gyawali said that the CA election should not be taken as a normal as it was going to be held to promulgate the new constitution. [break]
He said the new constitution could not be promulgated if voters did not go to cast votes being afraid of threatening and thinking the CA election as general election.
Stating that CA election would be held even after the CPN-Maoist does not participate in it, flexibility would be still adopted as far as possible to bring the CPN-Maoist in election.
Gyawali said that the country has already engaged in election and added that the CPN-Maoist has right whether or not participating in the election, but has no rights to foil it.
Similarly, Chairman of the Press Chautari Nepal, Rajendra Aryal, said that the press Chautari would leave no stone unturned to make the UML victory in the upcoming CA election.
He pointed out that the UML should be clear on different issues including full press freedom, technical education, health and employment in its manifesto.
Various persons including Treasurer of the Federation of Nepali Journalists, Sheetal Saha, Central Zonal Vice-Chairman of Press Chautari, Upendra KC and Bhaktapur Chairman of the UML, Rajendra Rajthala, among others stressed on the need of full press freedom in democracy.
