DANG, July 5: CPN-UML Vice-Chairman Bamdev Gautam said the dissident CPN-Maoist wants to spread anarchy in the country, putting forth its ‘illegitimate’ demands in relation to the party’s participation in the new Constituent Assembly elections.

Gautam said this during a press meet in Dang, on Friday. He charged the Maoist party, which wants a roundtable conference to be held after postponing the scheduled the CA polls, with showing a height of ‘ultra-leftism’. [break]

He asserted that the November 19 elections are possible even if the Maoist party stays away and added that those who are resistant to the elections are risking their own existence. “This is the time to go to the people, not to flee from them.”

Stating that elections are generally considered a success when there is at least 25 percent voters’ participation, Gautam said, “There will be 90 percent voters turnout in this elections no matter Mohan Baidya (the CPN-Maoist chairman) or anybody else boycott the elections.”
