Business briefs: IME, Global IME flags on Everest

KATHMANDU, June 4: International Money Express (IME) and Global IME Bank have felicitated ultra-runner and climber Sanjay Pandit who successfully reached the summit of Mt Everest this season. According to a statement issued on Monday, Chandra Prasad Dhakal, IME’s executive chairman and Global IME’s chairman, felicitated Pandit with tokens of appreciation from both the organizations. On the occasion, Dhakal congratulated Pandit for becoming Nepal’s first athlete to have climbed the highest peak of the world and also thanked him for carrying the flags of IME and Global IME Bank to the Everest summit.

NIBL’s 3rd branchless banking outlet
KATHMANDU: Nepal Investment Bank Limited (NIBL) has launched its 3rd branchless banking outlet in Bandipur-1of Tanahun. According to a press statement issued by the bank, the service aims to establish a well secured country wide agent network with presence in all 75 districts. “Branchless banking aids in encapsulating the local population into the financial mainstream by extending the banking outreach and by creating ease of access to the unbanked and under-banked population segment,” the bank said in the statement. The statement further said branchless banking through biometric POS and debit card is well equipped to provide most of the retail banking services including cash deposit by self and third party and withdrawal, fund transfers, bill payments and purchase of recharge PINs.

New Royal Footwear showroom
KATHMANDU: Royal Footwear Industries has opened its second outlet in Narayan Gopal Chowk. According to a statement issued by the company, Royal Footwear has been manufacturing footwear by using local materials, labor and ideas since last year.
