The Nepali cricket team is scheduled to board an Indian Airlines flight to New Delhi, India on Tuesday and travel to London on a British Airlines flight from there.[break]
According to Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) General Secretary Ashok Nath Pyakuryal, skipper Paras Khadka´s Bermuda visa is still due, while the other teammates are awaiting transit visa for the UK. “We will wait until Tuesday morning. We are yet to get a clear status on the issue. Anyway, there´s hardly anything that we can do about this,” said Pyakuryal.
"We will be forced to postpone our flight and change the fixture if we don´t get the visas by Tuesday morning," he added.
Nepali team is scheduled to play a practice match against Bermuda XI on April 25 before starting the Division 3 campaign on April 28 against the USA.
"We have been updating the International Cricket Council (ICC) about the status of visa process," said Pyakuryal. "We had started the visa process properly and on time," he claimed.
Division 3 is the most important tournament for Nepal at present as the top two teams of Division 3 will not only earn promotion to Division 2 but also progress to the World Cup Qualifiers 2014.
Nepal had reached Division 3 after winning the Division 4 tournament held in Malaysia in September 2012. Nepal had won all its matches in Division 4 and defeated the USA in the final.
